I kept hearing my friends rave about Yafa and finally decided I needed to see what all the buzz was about. This cozy Yemeni gem in Sunset Park absolutely blew me away. I stopped in for breakfast and ordered the shakshuka and a latte, and I’m so glad I did.
The latte was spot on – smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced. The shakshuka was the real standout: a bright burst of flavor with three perfectly poached eggs nestled in a fragrant, deeply seasoned tomato and pepper sauce. Every bite was comforting, hearty, and incredibly satisfying. One word for this plate: “Amazing.”
The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the kind of place where you can relax, chat with friends, or linger over your coffee. When you’re in Sunset Park, do yourself a favor and check this place out – Yafa is absolutely worth the visit.

Truly a fantastic experience!
After a frosty commute, I began warming up with a hearty cup of Qishr tea. After sometime, I ordered one of the best, tasty sandwiches I’ve had since the womb, an experience I won’t ever have until the hereafter.
Everything was on point, the tasty food, the vigorous customer service, and the welcoming atmosphere. Shoutout to all staff working this Saturday shift, very good people (including the chefs, don’t ever forget them.)
More importantly props to Yusuf, he truly went above and beyond to serve me with such hospitality. The way he prepared orders and moved through the floor was beyond elegant almost as he was flowing with the air under his feet.
Loved the Baraka Milk, it just clicks and feels like home.

Amazing cafe, best in the neighborhood. Prices are reasonable for the (high!) quality of their beans, drinks, and food. They're really accommodating with dietary restrictions and halal comfort meals. Lamb stew is my favorite! The strawberry matcha latte is delicious, absolute go-to summer drink. Proud to be a regular here.

After attending the pop-up with Akram Cooks, we decided to come back the next morning for breakfast at Yafa Café—and I’m so glad we did! My sister is actually a regular here, but this was my first proper visit. I usually stick to the typical pancakes, but I wanted something different, and Yafa’s menu did not disappoint.
The variety was so impressive that we honestly had a hard time deciding what to order—we almost got everything! Every single dish that came out was perfect to the tee: fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. You could really taste the love and quality put into the food. I enjoyed every bite from start to finish.
The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the staff are friendly and attentive, and the overall vibe makes it the kind of place you can happily linger in. If I lived in New York, I could absolutely see myself becoming a regular here. Since I only visit once a year, I’ll be looking forward to making Yafa Café one of my must-stops every trip.

I visited this spot expecting a great experience, and while it was okay, it just did not quite blow me away like I had hoped. The atmosphere is pretty cozy and it is a decent place to sit down for a while if you need a quiet corner. I found the service to be a bit hit or miss, and the quality of my drink was just average compared to some of the other coffee shops I have visited across the country. It is a fine neighborhood option if you are in the area, but I would not necessarily go out of my way to make it a regular stop.
