obsessed with this cafe. it’s so cute and lowkey magical. the space feels like one of those niche cafes in japan or korea, experimental but still cozy and whimsical. loved the ambiance of the fairy lights everywhere. you could walk pass the place and always get this intense urge to go inside and look around.
my friends kept sending pics from here and i was jealous, so when i stayed a few months in jersey city it became our weekly spot. the warm lighting and colorful decor against the industrial interior made us stay longer to avoid having to deal with the cold outside. it honestly helped my dopamine levels during winter. parking sucks at the this location so we would just walk there or take public transit to meet up at our spot.
i’ve literally talked to locals and strangers visiting from different countries here about how pretty it is because they were also taking pics of the place. it kind of feels like a barnes & noble mixed with newbury comics, just wish they had books or games upstairs. cappuccinos and sandwiches are so good, i always add avocado. the employees were also so sweet and would remember our order at the register. i tried the nyc location too but it didn’t have the same charm. it kinda looked like any generic and minimalist cafe chain in the city i would personally skip. the drinks there also look different from the ones served here.
moved away and i miss it so much. definitely coming back soon.

The food was amazing! Highly recommend the Bulgogi. I also tried the tiramisu latte since I love sweet coffee drinks, and it was so good! 😋

Semicolon Cafe is such a hidden gem in Jersey City. The environment is incredibly cozy, welcoming, and the perfect spot to relax, catch up with friends, or get some work done. The staff is always super friendly and makes the entire experience feel even more inviting.
And the vanilla lattes are truly top tier — easily one of the best I’ve had. Everything about this cafe has such a warm and comforting vibe. Definitely a spot I’ll keep coming back to!

Good food - Crisp loaded sandwich, quick service and simple ambience. Easy on the pocket and generous portions. Calm, neatly tucked corner cafe, one street away parallel to the Exchange place walk. I had a peaceful time sipping, munching and sketching ✨over Lox sandwich and Tiramisu Latte.

The espresso based drinks are great, and the atmosphere is very cool. The baristas are always helpful and inform you if there’s a wait so you can prepare accordingly. Overall it’s a very nice spot for coffee!
My only negative feedback - the cold brew is extremely watered down / weak, to the point that I thought it must have been a mistake given how good the other drinks are. I bought it a second time and unfortunately had the same experience.
