After finishing our visit to the 5th floor of the Museum of Modern Art, we went up to the café on the 6th floor to rest our legs.
I didn’t have high expectations because the reviews weren’t very good, but the food was delicious and the server was extremely friendly.
The café atmosphere on a rainy day was also very nice.

I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the cafe Terrace inside MoMa, NYC, USA.
A pleasant café on the top floor of the MoMA, with a beautiful terrace that must be great in warmer seasons.
Since the weather didn’t allow it, we sat indoors, where the space is nicely decorated with artwork. The tables are fairly close to each other, which makes the café a bit loud, but in a lively, not unpleasant way.
We had to wait a little for a table because it was a rainy day and the place was in high demand, but we were seated in about 10 minutes — perfectly reasonable given the circumstances. The service was quite fast once we sat down.
We ordered a pork-based sandwich and coffees, both of which were perfectly decent and fairly priced. Not exceptional, but a solid option if you want to eat comfortably inside the museum.
Overall, a good choice for a break while visiting the MoMA.

This was a difficult spot to find as only certain elevators accessed it. Stopped by because I was famished and finally found and got to enter a short while before they closed. While the dining area was nice and the server was very attentive...the food was not great. I had the fricassee salad that had a cold egg and super hard bacon and the chicken which while it looked good..was super dry...cold and the vegetables had a weird taste due to the sauce being very bitter.

If you need a break from the crowds at MoMA, the Terrace Cafe is the place. The salmon was fresh and well-prepared, and a cold beer was exactly the "refreshment" I needed to keep the energy up. Great atmosphere and much-needed seating!

We ordered quickly and were quickly served. But …. Disappointed by the quantity of food in the plate and with its quality , I think that you pay in an expensive manner a good location and environment. Staff’s attitude is a bit controversial imho.
Ok art and modern art are at the door but still a smile is welcomed
